Most of the parts are simply "cross cut" from USA standard dimensional lumber to the sizes determined by the auto cutting list generator. If you buy your lumber in the nominal sizes determined by the "Materials and Cutting list generator" spreadsheet, you will save valuable time and materials. Unexposed interior ends, backs and shelf surfaces are particle board construction to reduce cost, but you can use plywood if you prefer. Plywood (and particle board) parts are optimized to accommodate standard 48" wide sheets to save material.
