Many of you have written to us asking to see photos of bars built from our plans. Here are pictures of some great looking bars built from our SPEEDY-BUILD Bar plans...
"Murray's" pub
Speedy-build customized by G. Scott M. Buffalo, NY

"I actually ordered three different sets of bar plans, and I am happy to say that I chose yours to build. The results are awesome, and I wanted to share a few photos with you. The plans were easy to follow, and the bar came together quite nicely. I used 3/4" oak plywood for most of it, and added a beer gutter to the back side. I am ecstatic! Thanks for the help in putting together "Murray's" pub!"

"...attached some photos I took of my recently finished bar. I
purchased and used your speedy build instructions as a template for my bar's construction. The instructions were logical and very easy to follow. I decided to use corrugated galvanized metal for the front and sides of my bar to keep with the "stainless steel" look that I was after. It worked very well and is a low maintenance approach".

"Fighter Pilot Retreat"
HB-006, customized by “Crash” M., Ramstein Air Base, Germany

"I wanted share a few photos of our bar I built using your Speedy-Build plans. I am an active duty military member living in Germany and have never done any woodworking in the past. I was a little worried the task I was undertaking would be too much especially since everything over here is in metric! However, due to the ease of construction inherent in the design of your plans I actually spent more time at the hardware store ... than I did putting the bar together! Honestly, once I started, I had the basic bar complete in one night minus the top and of course sanding/staining. Thanks again for your awesome plans…they truly are Speedy-Build!!!

And of course the wife has the last word!!! :)
When he said HE was going to build us a bar, well... I just said, "okay, honey... you build us a bar...tee hee hee..." because the man has never built anything in his life other than model airplanes. When a big ol' work bench full of saws and such appeared in our basement I just took a deep breath and thought, "oh man, here we go." Saw-wood flew and tunes blared for a few nights and, much to my happy surprise, that fella built us one heck of a bar! In the end, I have to say I am very proud of the bar he built and have to brag
that he gets all kinds of kudos on it, even from men who are self-proclaimed woodworkers themselves. Your plans were very straightforward and easy to use. I've been calling them
"Bar Building for Dummies" plans because, although not a dummy by a long shot, my hubby whipped out that bar in no time flat. Thank you, thank you... we have had some awesome parties (such as the "stock the bar party that, as you can see from the picture, went over well) all because that bar, thanks to y'all, has made our "Fighter Pilot Retreat" one great place to hang out. Nice and Easy...
Speedy-build... "Yes, we did buy plans for the "Speedy Build" Bar, it came out really great! Building the bar was the final part of finishing our basement, and it really adds a lot to the room. It was our first time ever actually building something like this, and we were surprised at how easy it was thanks to your plans. We even modified the plans slightly, and tiled the top, which came out great. All the measurements and steps were easy to follow, and the tools required were minimum, which saved us a lot of money. No one can believe that we actually did it ourselves because it looks so professional."

Metallic Marvel...

Speedy-build..."Here are some photos of my Speedy Build Bar. I made a few minor modifications such as shortening the top overhang on one side so it could be against the wall, using steel sheets backed with 1/4 inch plywood instead of the bead board, using steel for the top (fastened onto lumber), and using some molding for the trim. I did have to use an extra tool not listed, a jig saw with a metal cutting blade, for the steel sheets. As with other folks who have written in, this is my first project of this sort and I was able to complete it by myself in what amounted to about two days worth of work (it actually took a couple of weeks, because there were times I could only get an hour worth of work in a day). My wife was a little apprehensive about this project and was really just hoping for something that didn't look too bad. She was very pleasantly surprised by the finished product and thinks it looks great in our basement. Thanks for having such easy to use plans that enabled me to build the bar that fits perfectly in our basement design!!

L-Shaped Beauty...
Speedy-build HB-006...Just thought I'd share a few pics of my new bar which I built using the speedy build plans. The plans were simple to use which made the project enjoyable to build. I did make some modifications though. I added a fridge on the right side and a roll up door for the liquor cabinet. I also added some lighting underneath the bar top. I covered the top with a granite looking formica. I've had several compliments on how well it turned out. Thanks for helping build "Barry's Bar".

"Paradise Palms"...

Speedy-build HB-006-R ...My wife and I are very much the amateur builder's who were very hesitant about taking on this project. However we are now believers in your process, and are glad we did. I looked over your web site and was motivated by the repetitive assurances of the ease with which your guides would produce results. I am here to assure all that the "L Shaped Speedy Build" is just that. The layout of the purchase guide, the modelistic approach to cutting out and numbering the individual parts, and finally assembling them, was very easy for the amateur builder. both my wife and I are very proud of our new bar. We stayed very true to your initial design, however we added a palm weave walls and some additional trim to the project in order to a have it fit our tropical theme. thank you very much for your service and the quality of you work! We are calling the bar the Paradise Palms and it took us about 20 hours to build, not counting the time we allowed for stain and poly to dry.

Happiness is...
Speedy-build..."I wanted to let you know just how easy this was. I had never attempted to do anything like this before. I had to borrow my dads circular saw since I did not have one. My friends cannot believe I built this by myself. I even purchased some cabinets and a countertop to put a sink for a wet bar behind it. I purchased your plans off of the Internet and they were by far the easiest to follow. I had bought some other plans about 2 weeks before yours and once I got them I realized that they were not made for the novice woodworker so I did not attempt to use them. Luckily I found your sight and I have the bar that I always wanted. Thanks again."

A Natural Beauty...

A Great White!

A Joy Forever!
Speedy-build... "Here is the bar that I just built. It was quite easy to follow the plans and I actually shortened the length of the bar by 1 foot to accommodate the bar area. I took it even further and added a tile bar top along with an extended arm rest at the back corners of the bar top. The next steps for me is to keep adding more shelving and eventually a bar back. But for now, I thought I'd share this with you. As of today, I continue to receive compliments from all my friends and relatives. Now, I can finally kick back and enjoy a nice cold one at my own bar. Once again, thanks for your design.

Speedy-Tiki Bar...
A Great Job, customized by Jim L., Pinellas Park, FL
|
"... just wanted to send you a few photos of the Tiki Bar that I built utilizing your speedy-build bar plans. Considering I am not a carpenter, I found the plans very easy to follow and as you can see I made quite a few modifications! The whole job took me about 4 days to build cost me about $500.00 including all the bamboo and tiki decor plus shipping. The bar is completely weatherproofed and the bar top is covered with bamboo board and 12 coats of polyurethane! Thanks for the easy to follow plans!" Jim

HB-005, Built by Chris M., Pittsburgh, PA

"... I consider myself pretty handy and do a lot of around-the-house repairs and updates. I now wanted to concentrate on having a bar of my own. When I say a bar of my own, I mean the bar that Chris built. I was leery because my woodworking skills are not up to par so to speak, but I accepted the challenge. I came across your website, reviewed it, downloaded it, and got started. With very few snags and little to question, I have a bar in my now finished basement that my family can enjoy, as well as a great place to entertain. Thanks very much for the plans and the affordable cost. The directions were extremely explicit and I thank you for that! Here is a picture of my finished bar. We went for the olive green stain....risky, but turned out wonderfully!
